Status Quo Release New Studio Album
30/07/2007

On 17 September 2007, music legends Status Quo will release their hugely anticipated brand new studio album, entitled, with tongue firmly in cheek, “In Search of the Fourth Chord”.

This 14-track collection is their 33rd album [the 33rd 33”!] and features a belting set of future classic Quo songs – including an exclusive UK only bonus track “I Ain’t Wasting My Time”. The album will be preceded by the download only release of the infectious single “Beginning Of The End” on 10 September.

“In Search of the Fourth Chord” will be released on the band’s own Fourth Chord label in the UK (and through Edel in Europe and Scandinavia). For this album, the band reunited with Pip Williams, the man who produced the likes of “Rockin’ All Over The World”, “Whatever You Want” and “In The Army Now” and the results are stunning. The album also sees Quo working again with Bob Young on several tracks, the team that penned many stone-cold Quo classics have not lost their magic touch!

The album provides a slew of highlights and variety, from the couldn’t-be-any-other-band-in-the-world opening of “Beginning Of The End” or “I Don’t Wanna Hurt You Any More” to the loping swagger of “Pennsylvania Blues Tonight” to the more considered Blues/Country stylings of “Electric Arena”.

Track Listing: 1 Beginning of The End (4'23"); 2 Alright (4'12"); 3 Pennsylvania Blues Tonight (3'44"); 4 I Don't Wanna Hurt You Anymore (4'00"); 5 Electric Arena (5'25"); 6 Gravy Train (3'22"); 7 Figure Of Eight (4'08"); 8 You're The One For Me (3'30"); 9 My Little Heartbreaker (3'50"); 10 Hold Me (4'33"); 11 Saddlin' Up 3'42"); 12 Bad News (5'05"); 13 Tongue Tied (4'21"); Bonus track for UK: I Ain't Wasting My Time (3'36")

One of the world’s most enduring and popular acts, this seminal British band has influenced a generation of musicians and entertained millions with their driving, no-nonsense brand of rock. Status Quo also embark on their traditional UK tour in November and December 2007, the tour will take in 32 dates. Tickets can be obtained via 0844 412 0999 or online at www.livenation.co.uk. Ticket purchasers will have the exclusive opportunity to pre-order a limited edition, souvenir 12” vinyl version of the album, in a stunning gatefold sleeve, this is a special ticket offer and this vinyl album will not be available in the shops.

A new studio album is always a major event for the band’s legions of fans and this one will keep the purists happy whilst also showcasing the band’s musical versatility. “In Search Of The Fourth Chord” is a discovery in itself!
