We caught up with the award winning DJ Hype, to learn more about the man behind the decks.

How did you get started?
By building my own sound system and holding reggae blues dances bak in the early eighties

How would you describe your music?
Drum and bass jungle
 
Best ever gig you have played to date?
Too many to have an all time but in 2007 the two best gigs have been nocturnal festival in Los Angeles USA in the middle of the streets in down town L.A....and the dour festival in Belgium.....plus my own playaz nite monthly at fabric.
 
What was your best gig or band that you have seen as a gig-goer?
Probably Frankie Beverly and maze at Hammersmith Palais bak in the mid eighties

What’ currently your favourite band(s)?
Not really got a fave at the moment
 
What was your first job?
Burglar!
 
When was the last time you threw-up? And why?
Earlier this year........ate dodgy food when on tour
 
What’s your pre-gig tipple of choice?
Vodka lemonade
