With the New Year fully upon us, we’ve decided to name a few acts we think are going to make it big in 2008. Read on for our predictions.
Operahouse
Made up of Camden boys Johnny Lloyd, Jimmy Cratch, Alex Kaines and Ben Niblett, Operahouse are a first class indie, disco band. After spotting them on Myspace and hearing their tunes on Radio 1 and Xfm we have no doubt Operahouse will have a very promising future. Their latest single “Born a Boy” is out January 28th 2008. Foals
It’s most likely that you’ve already heard the name “Foals” a hundred times already, but that’s not in vain. These guys have tremendous talent. They are on tour from March and we reckon you’ll be a fool if you don’t try and get tickets to one of their gigs. For more information: Click here.

Milburn
Although these guys have already played some top gigs, including Xfm’s Big Night Out and have a rather big following amongst indie lovers, Milburn remain relatively unknown. Adele
Soul singer Adele has recently won the BBC News Website’s talent poll ‘Sound of 2008’ and we couldn’t have agreed more with the verdict. Sounding like a combination of Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse her voice and musical style is breathtaking. Take a look: myspace.com/adelelondon

The Clik Clik
Indie and electro pop act, The Clik Clik, offer a delicious mix of boy girl vocals, exhilarating tracks and a cool image to boot. The tune “My Dunks” has received critical acclaim and air play from the new music king Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. Visit: myspace.com/theclikclik

The Ting Tings
For big hitters within the alternative scene, we picture The Ting Tings making a huge impact with fans across genres. They’re influences include Gorillaz, Talking Heads, Blondie and Bjork. Duffy
Compared with Dusty Springfield, Duffy is one to watch very closely. With husky vocals and a powerful Motown sound, Duffy have already caught the attention of Radio 1 and made it to the second spot of the BBC poll of “Sound of 2008”. Check them out at myspace.com/duffymyspace

Black Kids
Made up of Owen Holmes, Kevin Snow, Dawn Watley, Ali Youngblood and Reggie Youngblood, Black Kids stirred up quite a following at the end of 2007. With tours lined up with Kate Nash and Vice, we expect a promising 2008 for the Black Kids. Visit: myspace.com/blackkidsrock

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong
South East London boys JL and the JJJ are destined to be big hitters. With a unique indie pop sound, it’s hard not to love their latest tracks “Lucio Starts Fires”, “Lonely Buoy” and “Tough Terrible”.
