With his homespun electro-enfused Drum & Bass sounds, Sheffield based Extra Breaks has plenty to teach all wannabe bedroom producers.

We don’t know much about this guy - not even his real name! But while this says more about Urban Planet’s non-existent research skills than anything else, this shouldn’t take away from Extra Breaks’ outstanding electro efforts.

What we do know is this: he hails from Sheffield and makes electro enfused drum & bass. While the tunes we listened to on MySpace may sound a bit on the home made side, with the use of some tried and tested samples, all tracks are put together well and sound good.

But perhaps the reason why we like him best is because, as anyone who has ever experimented with electronic music will be able to relate, is this excellent quote from his MySpace page:

“I started writing music when I was about 16 using a £90 Casio sampler, a Jen SX1000 synth and an Amstrad double tape deck to over dub the beats!! Obviously this sounded crap, but I thought it was 'wicked' and have been disgracing the environment ever since.”
