Andy Morris and Stuart Crichton, aka Narcotic Thrust, tell us their favourite clubs, their advice to aspiring DJ's and more about their latest single, “When The Dawn Breaks,” the follow up to their chart breaking summer anthem, “I Like It.” By Rachael Hannan

You've both been in the dance music industry since the early 1990's. What have been the biggest changes that you've witnessed since then?

Stuart: Everything's gone all digital on us.

Andy: Just how easy it has become to make tracks now. How little equipment you need and the ease of making tracks anywhere. The music has moved on a lot in some respects but the tracks you will always remember are quality songs. Bleeps and bloops are important but good vocals can take you to a whole other place.

Which of your own tracks have you been most proud of?

Stuart: Christine Anu, 'Island Home.' It was used to close the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games .

Andy: They are a bit like kids; you love them all for different reasons. One thing that I do like about 'Safe From Harm' however is the fact that it was the first dance record of all time to reach the Billboard Mag No.1 without any external promotion. That means our peers really loved that record and that means a lot.

Online music downloads; friend or foe?

Stuart: Friend in the future. Foe until it gets sorted out.

Andy: Friend. It should be legal but it is the way forward. I think the exposure it offers smaller acts is invaluable.

What would be your advice for any aspiring DJ?

Stuart: Get some sleep!!!!

Andy: There will always be doubters. Ignore them, but don't ignore constructive criticism. Do it for the music, not the money or you are bound to be disappointed.

Name your favourite clubs, past and present!

Stuart: Ayr United FC, Scotland.

Andy: Leisure Lounge, London; Tweekin', Sydney; Redlight, Paris; The Big One, Buenos Aires; The Ghetto, London; The Sound Factory, NYC.

Name one of your personal favourite tracks of all time.

Stuart: Ascot & Wimbledon Dogs.

Andy: Promised Land, Joe Smooth.

Can you tell us more about your inspiration for your latest release, "When The Dawn Breaks"?

Stuart: We wanted to go for a more cooler sound for this one. Who knows, the next one might be poppy again.

Andy: Mixing genres of music to get a fresh sound. The vocal could be Reggae, it could be The Police, but the music is pure club.

Tell us 3 things we don't know about each of you.

Stuart: I support Ayr United FC, collect stamps and I'm a compulsive liar.

Andy: I love cooking, I'm a trainer addict and I really, really love my job.

Most embarrassing moment?

Stuart: Being shown on the big screen at the Holland v Scotland match in Amsterdam. Not only were my mate Ewan and I very drunk, but we lost 6-0. Ouch!

Andy: Not telling you!

First record / single / album you bought?

Stuart: Can't remember.

Andy: Madness, 'Last Train To Cairo' and the soundtrack to Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.

Best piece of advice any one has ever given you?

Stuart: Once you've written the song, just make sure the drums and bass are loud enough!

Andy: Nightclubs can be very seductive, but they can also be very destructive; be careful!
