“Up” is Pauline Taylor’s third album. Her style has been described as a blend of ‘folking soul’ and ‘urban campfire blues.’
A former ballet student, she released her first album across Europe in 1999 to critical acclaim, next came the beautiful ‘A Simple life’ in 2005. She has featured on both Dido records P*NUTs debut album 'Sweet As' (Cheeky Records/BMG, released Sept 2003), has written with ex spicegirl Melanie Chisholm and new artists Kristian Leantiou, Paolo Nutini, Belle and The Hempolics.
Her songs are easy listening, however despite the relaxing bluesy notes and a decent melody, there is nevertheless a bland quality to many of the songs. The first song is good with a decent tune, however track 2, 3, 4 and 5 lack passion. Track 7 is more interesting, with good vocals and a catchy tune. But despite a couple of good tracks this is a rather dull album.
