'Give Me The Food’ is the cheeky new contribution from the Romanian bred R and B singer, Miss Platnum.

This single displays a playful and original tongue in cheek style reminiscent of Gwen Stefani but with a distinctly Eastern European undertone. The ‘Give Me The Food’ single features a Sway remix and a Bucovina Dub mix featuring Shantel featuring a bizarre mix of hip hop and Balkan Beats.

Although topical in the sense that she addresses the more serious stereotypes of Eastern European women’s attitude to food and size, this is not a track to set the world on fire, failing to reach beyond the predictable and tacky. Although catchy to a point, this is probably a single you could easily live without hearing. Miss Platnum’s first single Mercedes Benz (track 2) is slightly better; the background rhythm is dynamic and fun while the lyrics mock the current fascination with our bling culture. Overall though, save this one for a night out with Borat and the cheeky girls.
