Matt Cantor from the Freestylers on the the UK's best producers, the ever expanding breakbeat scene, Australia and, er, cooking!
What's your favourite track from the rave days?
Let The Music Use You, by Nightwriters.
You were the first electronic act to play fully live on Top Of The Pops? Was it as cheesy as it looks!?
It was pretty cheesy but we were chuffed to be playing live and were too preoccupied making sure everything was tight to really notice all the 13 yr olds!!
You supported Lenny Kravitz on his American tour, gate crashed Anastasia's family meal, called Robbie Williams a twat and tried to chat up Kate Moss - any other brushes with stars you can tell us about?
Ii had a piss next to Bruce Willis once.
Push Up was a massive number 1 hit in Australia and got to number 1 in South Africa. Were you surprised it did so well internationally? How is breakbeat scene different in those countries to the UK?
Nnever been to South Africa but we have been to Australia ten times now and the tours get better and better!! Breakbeat is huge in Oz, kind of like house was here a few years ago.
Who are the hottest producers at the moment on the British breakbeat scene?
To be honest, there's not a lot of breakbeats floating my boat at the moment, so I've kinda gone back into my hip hop. But at a push I'd say Control Z, The Auto's, Breakfastaz and anything with a bit of attitude!
Your working on your fourth album and it includes collaboration with Australian drum 'n' bass man Pendulum. When is it due for release and can you tell us anymore about it?
It's not really an out and out breakbeat album. It's very varied, with loads of vocals and some some genius pendulum bizzness!!!
What would you say is Aston's best quality is and what would he say yours was?
Astons best quality is his tennis playing abilities. Got no idea what he'd think mine are - my ability 2 cook maybe!!
