LodeStar Festival is completely home-grown with its roots firmly in the less cynical era of the music-loving 60s.

In a live music market saturated with conspicuous sponsorship and big deals, LodeStar Festival has been organised outside the fast-paced consumer industry. The festival plans to offer music lovers a new event that focuses on what the festival-goers are actually there for, music!

“With LodeStar, I am hoping to give people that thrill of taking a step outside the pressures of their everyday lives to enjoy live music in the sunshine,” says LodeStar brainchild Doug Durrant.

“It’s something that I cannot wait to watch unfold.”

LodeStar produces a stellar line up of incredible indie acts, taking in everything from the jagged art-rock of The Rakes and The Hot Puppies to the superlative songmanship of Badly Drawn Boy and the dance-inducing Pigeon Detectives.

Past acts to have graced the stage include the likes of Idlewild, The Bees and Alberta Cross.
