A Knights Tale (2001)
Heath Ledger made a significant impact on audiences in the film “A Knights Tale”, playing a peasant boy who turns into a great knight. The film was nominated for ten different awards and won the Golden Trailer Award for Best Action.
Ledger’s appearance in the medieval epic was just the beginning of a great and short-lived career.
Broke Back Mountain (2005)
Playing the role of a homosexual Cowboy over the course of 25 years, the film Brokeback Mountain became Ledger’s most acclaimed performance.
The film received heaps of award nominations including Best Film and Best Director in the British Academy Film awards, which it won.

Casanova (2005)
Playing the most famous lover of all time, Heath Ledger told critics he had fun acting the role of Casanova alongside British Actress Sienna Miller.

Lords of Dogtown (2005)
“Lords of Dogtown” shows Heath Ledger as one of several brilliant young skateboarders and surfers, known as the Z-boys. Based in Santa Monica, California, the film tracks the trends of the sports during the 1970’s. The Brothers Grimm (2005)
Breaking the mould once more, Heath Ledger starred in the gothic fairytale, “The Brothers Grimm”. It contributed to his winning of the Actor of the Year Award, presented by Central Ohio Film Critics Association and received rave reviews: Check it out:
Candy (2006)
Breaking the pretty boy image often associated with Heath Ledger’s past roles, for example in A Knights Tale and 10 Things I Hate About You, Ledger performed a cracking performance in the story of a poet and heroin addict.
The film was set in his native Australia and was placed in the Toronto International Film Festival.
