Jack Savoretti
His debut album “Between the Minds” has been described as beautiful by Urbanplanet’s resident Davina Richards and praised highly by the likes of Jo Wiley and Q Magazine.
Having been compared to acclaimed artists like Ray LaMontagne and Damien Rice, Jack Savoretti has impressed a number of industry performers and experts. Amongst his new fan club is Chris Martin who personally asked Jack to perform at a celebration of Martin guitars in London. About as mainstream as you can get, the following months are set to be heavily dominated by Savoretti and his acoustic style of music.

Alphabeat
Their brand new single “Fascination” is bubbly and infectious. This band has so much energy it’s hard not to admire them, even if their music isn’t your cup of tea.
For those who haven’t heard their sound, think indie pop, or as rotund Radio 1 Breakfast DJ Chris Moyles adds, the theme tune from Duck Tales. Their debut album “Alphabeat” has already gone platinum in their native country of Denmark and their new single is out now.

Johnny Foreigner
We predict Brummie trio the Johnny Foreigner will soon take over the indie pop airwaves with their distinctive sound and style.
Influenced by seafood, window seats and the Guillemots their first rate singles include tracks “Champagne Girls” and “This band is killing Us”.

Does it Offend You, Yeah?
Combine electro, punk and a dollop of Indie and you’re left with the British band Does it Offend, Yeah? and yes that really is their name.
The Reading boys have just released the new album “You Have No Idea What Your Getting Yourself Into” and have recently played at SXSW (South by Southwest media and music conference) alongside the flourishing Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong and newcomers Crystal Castles.

Jamie Lidell
In 2005 Lidell released the album “Multiply” which received critical acclaim from the likes of NME. Now he’s back with a brand new album titled “Jim”.
His experimental take on soul and funk rhythms are sure to catch the attention of modern soul lovers everywhere. His album is heavily influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder while his music is reminiscent of Brit singer James Morrison. Tracks recommended include the new single “A Little Bit of Feel Good” and “Green Light”.

A Fine Frenzy
A Fine Frenzy aka 22 year old Alison Sudol has released her debut single “Come On Come Out” set for release April 7th.
Her soft and gentle voice is sure to capture the hearts of all acoustic lovers and those who enjoy easy listening tracks. Her influences include Radiohead and The Smiths. Having performed two successful gigs in the London capital we have a good feeling that A Fine Frenzy has the potential to make top the charts in 2008.

Flo Rida
The huge success of Flo Rida’s debut single is a solid sign that this US Rapper will make his mark in 2008.
His debut single “Low” has already made it into the top ten UK download chart and the number one spot in the US. The record features the popular T Pain and has been made a firm favourite with DJs on Radio 1, BBC 1xtra and London stations Choice and Kiss 100.
His new album will be released in partnership with the Mail On Sunday March 31st.

Taio Cruz
Taio Cruz is an established songwriter and was responsible for Rihanna’s smash hit single “Umbrella”in 2007.

Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce told Urbanplanet exclusively to keep an eye on John O Callaghan. After giving his myspace a whirl we agree that this guy has talent.
