We caught up with the delectable Annie Mac before she jets off on another one of her magnificent Annie Mac Presents tours.

How did you get started?

I worked at lots of little stations - satellite ones, digital ones, internet ones. Then I got into Radio 1 as a production assistant.

How would you describe your style?

I mix and match all different styles.

Best ever gig you have played to date?

My favourite gigs have always been at Bestival – every gig at Bestival for the last 3 years.

What was your best gig or band that you have seen as a gig-goer?

The Walkmen at SXSW festival in 2004 and Candi Staton in the Jazz Cafe last year

What are your favourite bands at the moment?

I'm loving Cajun Dance Party and Adele

What was your first job?

Working in a DIY store called Atlantic Homecare when I was 16.

When was the last time you threw up?

I can't remember but it was definitely after too much to drink.

What's your pre-gig drink of choice?

I drink coffee and eat pick and mix before my gigs when I’m on the road. Then I start drinking vodka or JD during my gig.

Do you do the whole groupie love thing?

Course not.

Which other celebrity would you like to be trapped in a lift with and why?

Robert Redford circa Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid.
